Jose Cancela & Migeul Perez being in the media business are deliberately profiting by keeping their ethnic group speaking only Spanish! If their Spanish Speaking people begin speaking English, they would lose immediate control of their masses in politics as well as lost profits going to the English language media instead. Also, it is highly outrageous that Rick Sanchez says his own Cuban exile parents live in Miami since coming here from Cuba in 1960 they still “can’t speak English” after coming to Miami in 1960! That was 48 years ago! Culdn’t they atleast learn 20 words per year? Rick Sanchez just began running his outrageously biased programs on CNN on Miami’s English language conflicts with his Spanish language speakers in Miami who refuse to learn English even when they choose to come to live …

@Unknownkid2 the only way you are going to understand is if your a victum of crime and someone is tryinng to hurt you and your family, you will learn that if you had a gun thay would be laying on the floor dead and your family will be laying on the bed alive and well.
@crazymarine1991 if that method where to work for criminals then there would be no reason to threaten them with the death penalty right? Shouldn’t it work the same? Obviously it doesn’t work and I never said that you shouldn’t protect your life, I am just saying(like I already stated) that guns does not mean more safety.
@Unknownkid2 it dose if more people would have guns and shoot a criminal would lower the rate cuss the criminals would leaern that you fuck with someone you will get shot, and yes guns save peoples lives, and in england a man is in prison right now for shooting and killing a man for brakeing in to his house that was out in the country and yet you say guns wont stop nothing. the cops cant allways protect you from bad guys sometimes you have to protect your life at times.
@crazymarine1991 I seriously doubt that restriction on guns means more crime. Even if you are allowed to own guns, how does that lower crime. It just means that you will be able to shoot a criminal.

@crazymarine1991 I’m not saying to outlaw guns. Protect your family with what ever you may need. i do agree that that is important, but owning guns does not make a nation and its people any more safer than a nation that has them banned.
@Unknownkid2 ok that may be your look on things and i respect that but a burgler was trying to brake in to my house just a month ago, and just to let you know i have a wife, a 4 year old, and another kid on the way, what do you think i did leve it to the cops 5min respons time in my area or call 911 get my gun and take care of the prob,lets just say yah i dint shoot but he had a gun in his ear and he was down on the ground and the cops got him. if you outlaw gun only outlaws will have them.
@crazymarine1991 Look up the crime rates of the United States and compare it with the developed countries of Europe. They do not compare at all. Despite being able to own guns in the United States has done nothing to solve the crime problems of the nation. There are many more factors that play into crime problems and solutions and just because you own a gun does not mean anything. It just means more shoot-outs. I don’t regard that as safety.

This CNN program is full of BS: I live in the Miami area and most people here, although they speak Spanish between friends, speak perfect or extremely good English. The only ones who don’t know any are the recent arrivals who are starting to learn.

I live in Miami and it is really hard to live here and work if you don’t speak Spanish. English is the language of the USA and I refuse to spend 10 years of my life to learn another countries language.

Here in the Canary Islands (Spain) don’t ought the English people to speak Spanish, they speak English and we understand, so you can do the same in the U.S, even U.S have to deal with it and learn both languages, english people learn Spanish and Spanish people learn English. Even when the british population here is no so big as the latinos are in the U.S, we learn to understand them, so it’s not new for us, English people learn Spanish and Spanish people learn English, BOTH!

i don´t understand your problem…….you would have no kind of losses if both languages would be oficial and most people would speak both languages in the US…..we in Europe speak at least 2 languages, 3 or 4 is more normal…..comon, open your mind……maybe, if americans start to speak more languages they will understand other cultures better and would stop their lust to make war…..

Back in the 1960’s, the deaf were discouraged from signing as educators wanted the deaf to learn how to talk than sign. Being spanish speaking is not a handicap, but why must we be forced to learn spanish?

hat a nonissue. This is just way for politicians to divert people away from real problems. Reverting to nationalism is a common ploy for politians to muster up cheap support. Immigrants come, they learn eough English to get by, and their kids grow up speaking perfect English. If other languages aren’t institutionalized they’ll never last more than two generations. Period. It’s a free country, speak what you want. My family has been here since 1640 and I speak fluent Spanish and German.
